ABOUT UNBOUND
Unbound is all about helping you grow and evolve into your best self. Mental, emotional, and physical hurdles restrain us from living our best life. Through purposeful movement, breathwork, and intentional cold exposure, you have the opportunity to unbind yourself from those obstacles. Resiliency doesn’t just happen, it’s a skill that can be nurtured. Embracing these practices will help you unlock a new level of inner strength and clarity so you can live your best life.
-
YOGA
Yoga and movement allow you to create a mind-body connection. Through intentional yoga poses and flows, you can open up areas of tightness and tension. This creates a calm and grounded state before breathwork.
-
BREATHWORK
Breathwork can amplify the mind-body connection established during yoga and movement. The breathwork techniques used are intelligently sequenced to gradually activate your nervous system. Think of the breathwork as a mountain that you will climb. You start off slow and steady then gradually increase in intensity before coming back down to a calm state.

COLD EXPOSURE
A powerful tool for creating mental resilience in your body and mind. By immersing yourself in cold water, you are deliberately putting your body into a stressed “fight or flight” state. Through coaching and conscious breathing, you are able to calm that response and create a shift in your mental and emotional state. The magic happens when you step out of the cold and now realize you’ve always had the tools to do hard things in your life.
Think of movement, breath work, and intentional cold exposure as the way to jump-start your path to growth, remind yourself you are strong, and let go of what holds you back from showing up as your best self. Sometimes, life gets in the way of us remembering all that we are capable of. Sometimes, we need a reminder that we’re stronger than we think and that we can do hard things.
Are you ready to see what you are capable of?
MEET THE FOUNDER
Hi! I’m Emily! I am a mom, yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator, and lover of anything that can better my mental and physical health by pushing me outside my comfort zone. I believe that life is all about doing things that help you grow into your best self.
Oftentimes, evolving into your best self requires you to create a change - to do something different, to let go, or to take time to figure out what’s holding you back. I should probably mention that I HATE being cold. It is my least favorite thing. So how did I get here? Let me give you a brief backstory…
I started teaching yoga in 2009 when I was in graduate school in Chicago. After receiving my Master’s in Clinical and Health Psychology, I moved to Boston and worked with adults and children who had eating disorders. After a few years of working full-time as a therapist and then going straight to the studio to teach yoga after work, I realized teaching yoga fostered my best self. When my husband and I moved to Arizona in 2015, I decided to step away from psychology and dive into yoga full-time. I was fortunate enough to teach and manage the CorePower Yoga Old Town Scottsdale studio for several years until we started our family.
After having our daughter in 2019, I stepped down and became a full-time mom while also focusing on my love for teaching. In 2022, we welcomed our twin boys into the mix, which created double the joy and chaos in our lives! Balancing the demands of motherhood with my passion for teaching is an adventure and challenge, and it has deepened my appreciation for all things self-care.
In 2022, my amazing husband decided to surprise me with a date to go do a guided ice bath and sauna session together. I thought it was an interesting choice because I hate being cold - but I went with it. That first ice bath rocked my world. It was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, and I basically jumped out of the tub to escape it. But - after I warmed up, I was so intrigued by the challenge to do it again.
Shortly after this - I came across a SHERPA Breath & Cold training and, without much thought, decided to do it. The training not only got me more excited about using intentional cold exposure as the means for mental and physical transformation, but it also made me realize that our breath is our greatest untapped resource and something we can access anytime. Breathwork has the ability to calm our minds and create a sense of ease in our body…but it also can be activating and energizing. It is an incredible resource to activate a connection with the parts of us that hold us back.
Unbound was born from my desire to help others experience the magic of yoga, breath, and intentional cold exposure.
Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone and push your edge so you can let go of all the things holding you back from living your best life?
